In a statement released on Tuesday, FIFA announced that it had reached an agreement with Crypto.com to sponsor the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Singapore-based company will serve as the exclusive cryptocurrency trading platform for the showpiece event in Qatar, which will take place from November 21 to December 18.

FIFA's chief commercial officer, Kay Madati, added, "Crypto.com has previously proved a commitment to supporting top-tier clubs and leagues, big events, and famous venues throughout the world."

"And no platform is greater, or has a greater reach and cultural impact, than FIFA's worldwide football platform."
Crypto.com's sponsorship of the NBA franchise Philadelphia 76ers, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and Formula 1 was announced last year, and this is the company's latest major sports commitment.

In a 20-year contract allegedly for more than $700 million, the business, which was founded in 2016, also purchased naming rights to the Staples Center, home of the NBA franchise Los Angeles Lakers.

Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek said, "Through our cooperation with FIFA, we will continue to utilise our platform in novel ways so that Crypto.com can fuel the future of world-class sports and fan experiences around the world."
